Class2 Driver

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To complete daily walk around check and ensure that the details are recorded using the phone app provided to you
  • Ensuring all products for delivery are correct and that they have been loaded correctly and safely
  • Responsible for completing the daily paperwork
  • Execute any special requests as directed on the delivery note 
  • To make safe and efficient deliveries to the customer following the planned route
  • Be friendly and polite to customers at all times
  • Responsible for taking your vehicle to service when required to do so
  • To permanently maintain contact with the transport department and announce any issues as soon as they aride.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Full C or CE license 
  • Digital Tacho card

  • A good understanding of drivers hours regualtions

Commercial Structural Steel Estimator

Role Purpose

This role combines estimating, customer relationship management and business development activity within the structural steel and fabrication sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations while developing strong relationships with customers across the construction and building industries. A key part of the role will involve regular face to face engagement with builders, contractors, fabricators, site managers, tradespeople and other construction professionals to identify opportunities, secure new business and support existing customer accounts.

The ability to confidently read and interpret architectural, structural and fabrication drawings is essential as the role requires the assessment of project requirements, material take offs and the preparation of accurate quotations from customer drawings and specifications.

The role plays an important part in both winning profitable work and helping grow our structural steel and fabrication offering across the region,

Estimating and Commercial

  • Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and schedules
  • Prepare detailed take offs for structural steelwork including connections and ancillary items
  • Produce accurate cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, coatings and transport
  • Obtain, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identify commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders
  • Prepare tender summaries and pricing recommendations for internal approval
  • Support project handover following successful contract awards
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations, tender activity and project opportunities

Business Development & Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers operating within the construction, building, engineering and fabrication sectors
  • Regularly meet customers, contractors, tradespeople and decision makers to understand project requirements and generate new enquiries
  • Follow up quotations and tenders to secure feedback and improve conversion rates
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits, networking events and project review meetings
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • Experience estimating structural steelwork, steel fabrication, construction products or related engineering projects
  • Essential: Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural steelwork drawings, fabrication drawings and construction specifications
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with excellent customer facing skills
  • Comfortable building relationships through regular face to face interaction with customers, contractors and tradespeople

Qualifications

A qualification in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be beneficial. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Quality Operative

Job Description:

Relief/Shunter driver is required to ensure all lorries are driven safely into the loading bays within the Avon Site and to provide cover for our delivery drivers during holidays. Driver responsibilities include transporting material between Avon and our customers, shunting, loading and unloading. Ensuring all material is delivered safely by following the correct safety guidelines. This work can be if a mental physical nature and involves driving all year in different weather conditions. We expect all driving to be maintained to the highest safety standard and any incident or accidents reported to a manager. The objective is to increase efficiency, profitibility and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Transport material to the customer in a timely manner
  • Ensure all vehicles are moved to their assigned bays as required
  • Assisting the warehouse team so we can achieve 100% customer satisfaction
  • Loading and unloading of material
  • Always follow the safe working practices when carrying out any movement of lorries
  • Report any accidents or incidents that may occur on shift and assist with any inquiries regarding any accident
  • To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed withing the company
  • To ensure all lorries are operated in line with the published SOP (standards operating procedures)
  • Conduct 'Before Use Checks' and report all faults to the maintenance department
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line manager

Press Brake Operator

Skills required:

  • Experience with Pressbrake in steel manufacturing industry
  • Knowing what tooling setups to use for certain jobs
  • Basic maths skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Familiarity with steel manufacturing processes.

The shunter driver is required to ensure all lorries and trailers are driven safely to required destination within IMS grounds within the Vanguard estate.

Driver responsibilities is transporting material between warehouses, and ensuring all material is delivered safely by following the correct safety guidelines that should always be followed whilst on the industrial site. This work can be of a mental physical nature and involves driving in all year different weather conditions. Be able to operate tractor tugs to lift and move trailers around the IMS site. We expect all driving to be maintained to the highest safety levels and to report any incident or accidents to a manager. The objective is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction at all times.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Transport material to the production warehouse in a timely manner

· Ensure all production ticket/notes are passed back to the respective lorry

· Deliver orders to the designated warehouse located on the Vanguard Way Industrial site

· Ensure we do our upmost to help and assist the warehouses so we can achieve 100% customer satisfaction in all warehouses

· Transfer material to and from warehouses to ensure we complete order deliveries

· Always follow the safe working practices when carrying out any movement of lorries or trailers

· Ensure that you do your job as you have been trained and not take short cuts

· Report any accidents or incidents that may occur on shift and assist with any inquiries regarding any accident

· To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed within the company

· To ensure all lorries or tugs in your control is always operated in line with the published SOP (standard Operating Procedures)

· Conduct ‘Before Use Checks’ and report all faults to the maintenance department

· Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line manager
