Saw Operator

- Operate our overhead cranes safely. Be able to sling loads correctly and use magnets and straps where appropriate.
- Understand the principals of manual handling and demonstrate that you can manually handle steel correctly.
- Learn the different products that we saw and be able to pick those products correctly.
- Be able to understand the job card system we operate and complete the job card once an order has been cut.
- Understand and be able to work our steel off cut system.
- Learn how to operate at all of our saws correctly. Demonstrate that you can work the saw safely.
- Learn the different saw blades and their applications. Be able to change the saw blades correctly and safely. Learn how to clean the saw.
- Understand the need to check material before cutting to ensure it is correct, to check the cut size before cutting and check a sample of cuts after cutting.
- Learn how to package and label different cut sizes and quantities of completed orders.
- Ensure your work area is clean, tidy and safe at all times.
- Work closely with colleagues in the warehouse to assist with the day to day shop floor operation.
- PPE will be supplied and you will be expected to wear it at all times when on the shop floor.
Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.10pm
Friday 6am -1.10pm
Includes a 30 minute paid lunch and a 10 minute unpaid break

- Be friendly and polite to customers at all times

- To permanently maintain contact with the transport department and announce any issues as soon as they arise

Shunter Driver

Ensuring all material is delivered safely by following the correct safety guidelines. This work can be of a mental physical nature and involves driving all year in different weather conditions. Trainee Profiling Operator

- Operation of Plasma & Gas Profiling Machines (training provided if required)
- Quality checks of materials and equipment
- Preparation of parts ready for dispatch
- Completing all relevant checks and paperwork
- Working in conjunction with profiling office to deliver a high quality product & service to customers
- Maintain inventory controls by stowing stock away in the relevant location.
- Prepare customer orders by processing work orders; picking materials, banding and labelling consignments, ready for vehicle loading.
- Prepare customer orders by processing customer collection requests; picking material and loading the customers vehicle when they arrive to collect their material.
- Assist drivers with loading vehicles and ensuring all material is loaded
- Operating overhead cranes and forklifts to assist with material handling.
- Ensure all stock discrepancies are reported to the Operations Manager or Depot Manager.
- Ensure PPE is worn at all times in the warehouse.
- Carry out all daily, weekly and monthly checks as required by the companies procedures.
- Maintain equipment by performing ‘Before Use Checks’ and reporting any faults.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping all racking and floor areas free from waste.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line managers.
- Adhere to our environmental policy by ensuring all waste is disposed of in the correct skips (wood, metal, general).
